The Interface between you and me is a collaborative project by Kate ten Buuren and Sarah Ujmaia. It magnifies the importance of language and the way modern technologies influence cultural practices. Through acts of repeating, methodologies of translation and developing lexicons, ten Buuren and Ujmaia actively reinsert the self into existing terrains, re-aligning focus to the personal.

Further and Nearer

Feeling exists within two parameters:

Distance and

Closeness

Distance: helping form Intimacy

Closeness: a prolonging of absence

(carrying residue)

(carrying memory)

The personal is a topographic vernacular

The personal is a promising interspace

Being the bridge between the two

Repeating (to keep)

Translating

(to keep)

Tongue imprinted on back

Pulling a freckle through space

The autonomy to feel

and to speak.
